Hitler vs. Chaplin It’s the hat!
I saw this the other day and thought it was strangely amusing. Hitler and Chaplin were actually fascinated with each other for years and, oddly enough, were only born a few days apart.
In real life, they didn’t look all that similar, but because of the trademark moustaches, it kind of seems like they bore quite a resemblance to one another. I always thought it was a shame Hitler ruined that look for everyone else after him.
Needless to say, Adolf’s fascination with Charlie ended when The Great Dictator hit the screens; then nobody would be seeing Chaplin’s pictures again in Germany for quite a while.
